The Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act of 2015 was signed into law last month by President Barack Obama. This new law gives the U.S. the power to impose sanctions on foreign financial institutions that facilitate transactions, or money laundering, on behalf of Hezbollah or its agents. The law will force those banks to screen for any individuals and entities linked to Hezbollah but the challenge will be identifying them, given Hezbollah’s use of front companies.
